Hey there! I'm Luis Güette,
a software developer based in Caracas, Venezuela. With over 8 years of experience in the field, I've had the opportunity to work on various exciting projects and build a strong foundation in software development.
My journey began during my college days when I studied Electrical Engineering. Although my focus was on electronics, I always found myself drawn to software development. I remember my first program, written in Visual Basic 6, which was designed to manage patient information for a local hospital. Little did I know that this would ignite my passion for coding!
Throughout my studies, I explored different programming languages such as Delphi, assembler, and C++, even building robots and electronic devices for robotics competitions. For my thesis, I dove into Android app development using Java, creating a domotic system for a lab.
After graduation, I discovered Laravel and immediately fell in love with its capabilities. I developed my first application using Laravel to manage online courses, and that's when I realized my true calling in software development.
Although I initially worked with AngularJS and Java on a remote team, my heart always belonged to Laravel. I spent my free time building projects and honing my skills with the framework. Eventually, I made the leap and joined Kirschbaum Development Group, where I currently work as a senior developer.
One of my greatest passions is understanding customer needs and using my technical expertise to provide the best solutions. That's why I created MoonGuard, a set of tools for debugging and monitoring Laravel applications in production. Additionally, I developed Orion, a desktop app powered by chatGPT technology that allows users to create customized assistants to help with various tasks.
When I'm not coding, you can find me swimming in the pool or participating in open water competitions. As someone who embraces a healthy and balanced lifestyle while working from home, I also enjoy exploring ways to maintain overall well-being.
Through this blog, I aim to share my experiences as a software developer and working remotely. I'll dig into topics such as building successful software products, effective communication of ideas, and strategies for meeting customer needs. Join me on this exciting journey as we navigate the world of software development together!
